Victor Kernus concentrates his practice on mechanical, electrical, and medical technologies for a wide range of clients. He is experienced in both patent drafting and patent prosecution and patent appeals. Victor is experienced in both domestic and foreign prosecution of patent application relating to a wide range of technological fields including aerospace, automotive technologies, power distribution, power generation and power conversion, rotary electric machines, electro-mechanical devices and circuits, micro-electrical mechanical systems (MEMS), packaging technologies as well as natural resource exploration and recovery and natural resource post recovery processing technologies. He has written more than 1,000 patent applications and is an inventor on one U.S. patent. Victor is also an active volunteer with Casting for Recovery, an organization that supports those currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer and breast cancer survivors, and is a volunteer instructor and Fly Fishing guide with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, an organization that supports disabled veterans.

Temple University named Victor Kernus to their Continu/um spotlight of 50 Temple engineering alumni and faculty who stand out among their peers. The list celebrates the first 50 years of Temple’s College of Engineering. Victor, BSME '96, stands out as one of only a handful of intellectual property attorney honorees, recognizing his career success and his compassion for others as a mentor and volunteer.

11th grade student inventor Damian Earley received a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for an invention he presented at the Raytheon Technologies Invention Convention U.S. Nationals in 2021 at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan, where Damian won the Cantor Colburn and General Motors Patent Application Award. He received comprehensive intellectual property law services from Cantor Colburn that included guiding him through the patent application process.

Victor Kernus will deliver the alumni commencement address during the Temple University College of Engineering fall commencement ceremony on December 18, 2019. He will be joined by Jezreel Konstantinos, a candidate to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, who will deliver the student address. Victor is an alumnus of the school, having earned a bachelor's in mechanical engineering, cum laude.

Nearly every Monday night for the last three years, Cantor Colburn partner Victor Kernus has been teaching fly tying to the participants of the Fort Belvoir Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) program. PHWFF is a program dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and veterans through fly fishing and fly tying education and outings.

Cantor Colburn sponsored the Most Patentable Award, and provided pro bono legal assistance to the winner, which includes a patent search, patent filing, and prosecution of a patent application.
