Dennis Jakiela is a patent agent with a degree in synthetic organic chemistry. He concentrates his practice on engineering thermoplastics, thermosets, coatings, and green manufacturing processes for global chemical companies. Dennis writes and prosecutes U.S. and PCT applications and is a lead advisor to foreign associates. Prior to joining Cantor Colburn, Dennis rose to Principal Research Scientist at Cytec Industries and gained experience in all aspects of chemical research and development, including product development, process development, process scale-up, applications testing, and technical service. He holds 18 patents in light stabilizer technology and chemical manufacturing processes, which have been licensed, and he enjoys working with inventors to define inventions. Dennis has also served as an expert witness in several EPO patent opposition hearings.
