New Haven American Chemical Society's 6th Annual Student Research Symposium

Cantor Colburn is proud to sponsor the New Haven American Chemical Society's 6th Annual Student Research Symposium. The annual event will take place virtually and be live streamed in December. Dennis Jakiela, Ph.D., a senior patent at Cantor Colburn, is the head judge.
In 2020, the outbreak of the coronavirus necessitated that the event move to a virtual format for the first time. Dr. Jakiela coauthored on a paper published in the Journal of Chemical Education describing how that was accomplished.
Undergraduate and graduate students involved in the event are from Yale University, Quinnipiac University, the University of New Haven and Southern Connecticut University. Said Dr. Jakiela, "I enjoy viewing poster and oral presentations and interacting with the presenters and judging team. It helps keep me current with chemical, pharma, biotech, and computational chemistry developments. In our moving to a virtual format, we went from judging by paper to a simplified and efficient system using Google Forms and Sheets."
