AI Authorship and Inventorship

David Bomzer, President of the Connecticut Intellectual Property Law Association (CIPLA), will host an evening program on AI Authorship and Inventorship on May 12, 2026, at The Elm City Club.
The event will focus on the evolving legal framework for AI‑assisted works and inventions, including recent court decisions and USPTO guidance affirming the requirement of human authorship and inventorship. The discussion will address how these developments impact copyright, patent protection, and the practical use of AI in innovation.
David has served as both in-house and outside counsel to some of the largest and most recognizable Fortune 500 companies. In these positions, he has been responsible for developing, coordinating and executing all aspects of patent protection strategies among global teams of business and technology hubs. He is a thought leader on important intellectual property issues and is an active member of the Connecticut and New York intellectual property legal communities.
