9th Annual Student Research Symposium (SRS)

Cantor Colburn is proud to support the annual Student Research Symposium (SRS) organized by the New Haven Local Section of the American Chemical Society. The SRS is established as a premier opportunity for young scientists in our area to present the results of their research studies in a professional and supportive environment. As well as providing experience for researchers of the future to prepare scientific presentations and communicate their accomplishments, the event offers an opportunity for all members of the local chemistry community to learn about the outstanding research that being carried in the area.
Dennis Jakiela, Ph.D., a Senior Patent Agent at Cantor Colburn, has twenty years' of volunteer leadership with the American Chemical Society. He is a past Program Chair, Chair of the SRS, and Chapter Chair. Dennis and Justin Lee, a Postdoctoral Associate, Yale University, and Dennis chair the Planning Committee for the 2025 SRS.
The symposium will involve the participation of students from the University of New Haven, Southern Connecticut State University, Quinnipiac University, Albertus Magnus College, and Yale University. Students will present the details of their studies that are directed towards undergraduate, masters, and graduate degrees. The student presentations cover a wide range of topics, including pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, analytical chemistry, forensics, biochemistry, polymer science, green chemistry, and sustainability.
