The firm earned its spot on the list with a top ten performance on applications filed within USPTO Tech Centers 1700 (Chemical and Materials Engineering), 2100 (Computer Architecture Software and Information Security), 2800 (Semiconductors, Electrical and Optical Systems and Components), 3600 (Transportation, Electronic Commerce, Construction, Agriculture), and 3700 (Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Products).

Juristat based the rankings on how well a firm performed in number of applications filed, allowance rate, and average number of office actions before allowance over a 12-month period.
