Marcus Walker is an electrical engineer and patent attorney who previously served as an in-house Intellectual Property Attorney at IBM. He has experience developing, managing, and protecting patent portfolios for innovative companies, including preparing and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications, conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses, developing global patent strategies, and advising clients on intellectual property matters.
Prior to joining Cantor Colburn, Marcus practiced patent law in a private firm setting, representing clients across a broad range of electrical, software, mechanical, and emerging technologies. At IBM, he worked closely with inventors to identify and protect innovations in software, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, cloud computing, autonomous vehicles, networking, databases, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, drafting and prosecuting patent applications covering cutting-edge innovations.
