David Arnold has over 18 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution, non-infringement and invalidity opinions, counseling on global patent filing strategies, patent landscaping, and management of client intellectual property portfolios. He has experience with numerous technologies, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering & electronics, microwave antennas, electromagnetics, heat transfer, computer and systems engineering, semiconductor devices & processing methods, optics, nanotechnology, metallurgy & ceramics, energy, environmental engineering, internet & e-commerce and telecommunications.
With dual engineering degrees, BSEE and MSME, David's expertise and practice encompasses both the electrical and mechanical arts, and provides an ideal background for working directly with inventors in both disciplines. David also has extensive experience working with various foreign law firms during the filing and prosecution phases of international, regional, and national patent filings. Prior to joining Cantor Colburn, David spent 21 years with General Electric, first as an engineer, later as a senior project engineer, and lastly as Patent Counsel in GE’s Industrial Solutions Division.
