Aaron Bumgarner's intellectual property practice includes all aspects of domestic and international patent preparation, prosecution, and counseling for inventors in the chemical engineering and mechanical engineering industries.
Aaron is a chemical and paper engineer and a patent attorney of over 15 years’ experience, and has extensive experience in patent matters in chemical processes, pulp and paper manufacturing/chemicals, paper and fiber-based products, food packaging and specialty papers, non-woven products, filters and filtration systems, fluid handling and flow control equipment/systems, fuel additives, catalysts, processing hydrocarbon streams, aromatic products, aircraft components/systems, automotive components/products, additive manufacturing technologies, automation and control systems, nanotechnology and nanotube devices, pressure/temperature measuring devices, fuel cells, fiber optic applications, medical/dental devices and various mechanical devices.
Aaron’s client relationships include chemical companies, packaging and fiber-based product companies, aircraft companies, automotive companies, fluid handling and flow control equipment companies and technology/engineering institutes and universities.
Aaron performs patent drafting and prosecution; prepares opinions regarding patentability, non-infringement and invalidity; counsels clients regarding product design and clearance; assists clients with licensing and due diligence; provides trademark counseling and prosecution; and provides IP litigation support.
Prior to law school, Aaron worked as a Chemical/Paper Engineer for a fine paper mill; for a global paper-machine clothing supplier; and also for a global chemical company in its Paper Chemicals Department.
