Marisa J. Dubuc


Marisa Dubuc has 18 years’ experience in patent preparation and prosecution, opinions, counseling, and landscaping; her practice is focused on computer technology including computer infrastructures such as computer hardware, databases, networks and operating systems, mechanic and automotive, as well as business methods and control systems. She is responsible for securing patent protection to meet client product launch deadlines; for partnering with clients on site in patent mining sessions to form patent protection strategies; for working directly with inventors; and for management of final work product of associates. Before becoming a patent attorney, Marisa served as a cryptologist with the U.S. Navy for 15 years. She studied Mandarin Chinese during a full-time 47 week course under an accelerated language program, and provided translation services as a cryptologist working in various overseas assignments under a top secret security clearance. In addition, she was assigned to a new military division that was instrumental in developing techniques to test on-board computer network and communications systems for ships deployed around the world in order to identify potential weaknesses and ensure the integrity of the on-board systems’ security. Marisa has been active with the public schools in her community, serving on school councils at all levels of education and organizing fundraising activities for college scholarship programs.
