Jeffery Arnold is an intellectual property attorney with 26 years’ experience. He concentrates his practice on generic pharmaceuticals, to include litigation and validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions in support of Abbreviated New Drug and 505(b)(2) Applications, post-trial launch-at-risk evaluations/opinions, inter partes reviews, and due diligence studies. As a part of his generic pharma practice, Jeff provides clearance opinions for medical delivery devices, such as inhalers, sprayers, and applicators, including related color trademarks. Further, Jeff assists his clients in chemistry and chemical engineering; chemical manufacturing processes; biochemistry; medicinal chemistry; paper manufacturing and treating; polymers and related engineering; catalyst systems, particularly those employed in petrochemical industry; materials and material science; flooring products; medical devices; and mechanical devices and systems. He counsels clients on strategies for managing and protecting patent portfolios and obtaining color trademarks; he prepares validity, infringement, freedom-to-operate, and patentability opinions in these technologies; he represents clients in all aspects of patent prosecution; and he supports numerous litigation matters and trademark oppositions in addition to his generic pharma practice.

Before entering private practice, Jeff was an administrative law and trial attorney with the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Prior to that, Jeff was a chemical engineer with Texaco, Inc.

Trial Experience

Jeff was a Judge Advocate General in the U.S. Army for six years, serving as a first chair litigator in criminal trials, both as a prosecutor and as defense counsel. As a Judge Advocate, he was appointed a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of Georgia to prosecute civilian cases in the federal magistrate court for offenses occurring on Fort McPherson and Fort Gillem. Jeff has also been involved in several patent infringement litigation matters in private practice.
