Chad A. Dever, Ph.D.


Chad Dever is an associate with the firm’s Litigation and Chemical departments. His practice focuses on patent and trademark litigation, licensing, intellectual property counseling, patent landscaping, and patent prosecution. Chad has also prepared patentability, invalidity, infringement/non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions. He is admitted to the Connecticut state bar, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In law school, Chad was the recipient of numerous academic awards, including a certificate in intellectual property and four CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Antitrust & Trade Regulation, Energy Law, Law & Science, and Tax Policy. While a law student, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Dominic J. Squatrito, District Court Judge for the District of Connecticut. Chad is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association, and the Connecticut Bar Association.

Trial Experience

Chad’s practice focuses on the procurement, enforcement, and defense of a variety of intellectual property rights. Chad has assisted in litigation involving patents, trademarks and trade dress, trade secrets, copyrights, non-compete agreements, licensing matters, and complex commercial disputes. He has assisted in cases in courts throughout the country, including CA, CT, GA, MA, NY, OR, TX, and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
